Couple 3 is a term we picked up in North Dakota while shooting our first feature, Crude Independence. It is used to indicate an indefinite number of things: definitely more than two; perhaps 3, or 4, or many more. Formed in 2008, Couple 3 Inc. is a production house for independent film and other media based in Manhattan, New York. Since 2008, Couple 3 has been producing award-winning original documentary, commercial, music video, and narrative content for its clients. For current projects, check out our blog.

In the fall of 2009, Couple 3 Creative Director Noah Hutton began filming a ten-year documentary film project on The Blue Brain Project in Lausanne, Switzerland. Hutton will return to Lausanne once a year for the next decade to track the progress of the project, which seeks to create a simulation of an entire brain, cell by cell, on IBM supercomputers. In addition to independent film, Couple 3 produces The Beautiful Brain, a website featuring monthly podcasts, reviews and essays on the art and science of the human mind.
